Tyson Fury says he is back as the hunter ahead of Arslanbek Makhmudov fight

Tyson Fury has predicted a destructive comeback when he faces Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Saturday night, saying his return to the ring will begin with a knockout.

Speaking at the fight’s final press conference, Fury said the matchup feels different because, in his words, he is no longer the hunted. “It’s going to be different because, for the first time in forever, I’m the hunter,” he said. “I’m not the hunted, and we all know that when I’ve always been the hunter in the past, I’ve always fucked people up.”

Fury, who appeared in a cheerful mood, said he felt confident about the outcome and suggested that Makhmudov would serve as an example of what he believes he can do when he is in control of a fight.

“I actually feel sorry for Makhmudov because I’m going to make an example of him,” Fury said. He described the Canadian-Russian heavyweight as “a big six foot seven lump, 18 or 19 stone,” and predicted a heavy defeat for his opponent.

He said he expects to stop Makhmudov in emphatic fashion, claiming he will “knock his head right off his shoulders” and leave him “laid unconscious” on the canvas. Fury added that Makhmudov would be left wondering what had happened after the fight.

“He will be knocked spark out on the canvas looking up, thinking: ‘What just happened there?’” Fury said. “But it’s no shame because he’s fighting the great Tyson Fury.”

The bout marks another chapter in Fury’s comeback story, with the heavyweight once again taking centre stage at a major London venue. Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is set to host the contest as Fury looks to reassert himself in the division.

Fury’s comments were delivered with confidence and a clear sense of anticipation as fight night approaches. He framed the contest as one in which he intends to seize the initiative early and impose himself on Makhmudov from the opening bell.

The final press conference brought the two fighters together before their meeting on Saturday, with Fury’s words setting a combative tone for the event. His message was simple: this return is not about easing back in, but about making a decisive statement.
