OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s San Francisco home targeted in early morning attack

A 20-year-old man allegedly threw a molotov cocktail at the San Francisco home of OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman before sunrise on Friday, according to statements from city police.

Police said the suspected attack took place at Altman’s North Beach residence, which is valued at $27 million, around 4.12am. The suspect has been arrested, but has not been identified publicly.

Authorities also said the same person allegedly made similar threats aimed at OpenAI’s San Francisco headquarters. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

The alleged attack adds to concerns around the safety of high-profile technology figures and the security of major artificial intelligence companies in San Francisco. Police have not released further details about the suspect or the investigation.
