Asha Bhosle, one of the most celebrated and versatile voices in Indian film music, has died aged 92, according to her family.
The singer, whose voice helped define Bollywood music through the 1970s and 1980s, was a two-time Grammy nominee and remained one of the best-known figures in Indian popular music.
Her family said she died after being admitted to hospital in Mumbai with complaints of “extreme exhaustion” and a chest infection.
