Design & Build Review

The phone amazed us with style as soon as we held the Huawei P30 Pro for review. It follows the same pattern as its predecessor, the P20 Pro. Huawei has worked around the bezels to offer a better visual glance. In addition to stripping back the bezels, the brand has diminished the notch.

There is only a tiny dewdrop notch to house the selfie camera. Huawei has embedded the fingerprint scanner in the screen, to expand the display and to offer a full display experience. At the base, there is the dual-SIM tray, the speaker grill, and a USB-C port.

Overall, Huawei P30 Pro is a slick, glossy choice for those who love a flamboyant smartphone. On the bright side, an IP68 rating means you do not have to worry about moisture or dust particles. Unfortunately, there is no headphone jack which is kind of a laydown.

Huawei P30 Pro Display Review

The P30 Pro features a 6.47-inch display that features an OLED screen. With an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, it offers a resolution of 2340 x 1080p, which leaves us with 398ppi. Thanks to its small notch, you get to cherish a big display.

The display is a modest feature that we found out during our Huawei P30 Pro review. Nonetheless, we received vividly bright images when we were playing PUBG at high settings. The phone also streamed visuals with details when we put on The Witcher season.

Camera Setup

Talking about the camera system, this is the best and most astonishing feature of the phone. In fact, the camera setup is the element that sets the P30 Pro apart from other flagship phones. At the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera which captures exceptional portraits. If you are a selfie fan, you are going to love the results.

Huawei P30 Pro features a quad-cam setup on the rear side. There is a 40MP main sensor equipped with OIS and f/1.6. Aside from the wide-angle lens, there is a 20MP ultra-wide angle sensor with f/2.2. Then there is a telephoto lens to see things with a precise perspective. The 8MP telephoto sensor is an OIS lens with f/3.4 alongside a ToF sensor for better depth assessment.

Overall, the camera setup beats the competition in terms of lens choice and performance. The images we shot represented pleasant colours with crisp details and a precise balance of white and black.

Hardware & Performance

As mentioned, the P30 Pro features Huawei Kirin 980, the first 7nm AI-powered mobile chipset. This is an energy-efficient processor that promise great things and boasts a clock speed of 2.6GHz. The integrated Mali-G76 MP10 GPU can handle all the modern games without relieving a sigh. Additionally, there is an 8GB RAM put together with 128GB of storage.

Such high-end hardware indicated speedy performance, and the Huawei P30 Pro does not disappoint. We did not experience any hiccups and we encountered neither flickering nor display stuttering. This flagship Android smartphone passed our performance test with flying colours.

The P30 Pro runs on the Android 9.0 (Pie) OS with Huawei’s own EMUI 10. And despite Google’s ban, this is one of the Huawei mobiles that still receive updates. Simply put, you can still enjoy the Android interface and Google services.

Final Thoughts

Huawei P30 Pro has a class of its own, thanks to its elegant design and camera setup. We hope you have enjoyed reading our Huawei P30 Pro review. If you are thinking to buy this Android phone in 2021, you are making the right decision. The P30 Pro is still a good choice in 2021 for both selfie lovers and gaming fans.
