WorldNewsContent aims to publish accurate reporting. When we make mistakes, we correct them promptly and transparently.
Our approach
We treat corrections as part of responsible journalism. We distinguish between:
- Corrections: Fixing factual errors such as wrong names, dates, numbers, locations, or incorrect descriptions of events.
- Clarifications: Improving wording when something could be misunderstood, even if the core facts were correct.
- Updates: Adding newly verified information to a developing story.
How corrections appear
When we correct a significant factual error, we add a correction note at the bottom of the article that includes:
- What was corrected
- The date and time of the correction
- The current corrected information
Minor edits that do not change meaning, such as grammar, spelling, or formatting, may be fixed without a correction note.
Developing stories
For breaking news, information can change quickly. We may update articles as authorities release new statements or documents. Updates are timestamped. If an earlier version contained an error, we will note the correction clearly.
How to request a correction
If you believe we published an error, contact us and include:
- The article link
- The specific sentence or claim
- What you believe is incorrect
- A source that supports your correction, preferably a primary source
We review requests as quickly as possible. If we need more information to verify a claim, we will ask for it.
Anonymous requests
We can consider anonymous correction requests, but we may require documentation or verification. If you have a conflict of interest, please disclose it.
Editorial independence
We do not remove accurate information simply because it is disputed or unwanted. If a story is accurate and supported by evidence, it remains published. If new evidence changes the facts, we update.
Takedowns
We may remove or substantially revise content if it contains serious factual errors, legal violations, or privacy harms, especially involving private individuals. If content is removed, we may note that it was removed and why, unless legally restricted.
Our promise
Corrections are not a sign of weakness. They are part of maintaining trust. Our goal is to be clear about what changed, when it changed, and why.
