Players just starting out in New World may find these tips handy.
New World has introduced players to a game experience that has been popular since its launch. Naturally, many players are still looking to get to grips with everything it has to offer. If you’ve been wondering what to spend your New World coins on, or how to make the most of combat, then here are a few tips that you can apply to your game to avoid any difficulties that you may come across.
Inventory, Class and Gear
When you get started with New World, you will have a sword and shield to be wielded. There are more weapons to find, of course, meaning that you might not favour your shield as much as when you start. There is your equip load to consider, which you can help by unequipping your shield.
The reason as to why your equip load is important is it will depend on the armour class that you have. All classes have something to offer you, so be sure to take the time to decide which is best for you. For example, how fast you roll is determined by your class. With the light class, you will have a rolling dodge, with 20% damage bonus. The normal class opts for a sidestep dodge, with both a 10% damage and crowd control bonus. If you choose to go heavy, then you’ll have increased crowd control of 20%, 15% blocking increase, but you’ll only have a slow sidestep dodge to use.
As for your gear, you can find faction gear pretty easily. Speaking of factions, you can get faction tokens, though this caps at 3000 tokens until you get to the next cap. With that in mind, make sure that when you’re near this amount you start spending.
Circling back round to inventory, the amount of storage you have is going to play a part as well. At your settlement, there is a storage shed to store your gear in. This shed will use resources whenever you are crafting in that particular settlement. Going to another settlement will mean that you are leaving your resources. However, if you were to go ahead and find another settlement for your faction to take over, then you can combine both storage sheds but it won’t be free.
It can be frustrating having to deal with factors such as equip load, with inventory management also being prominent for your New World items. Therefore, you should make yourself a satchel as soon as possible. With a satchel, you will be able to increase the weight that can be held in your inventory in New World. To do so, you need to use your armouring skills at the outfitting stations.
Weapon Gems
You’ll soon see that you can find weapons that have their own gem slot. These will give you the chance to alter the damage that your weapon would normally do. To figure out what kind of effect there is, a certain colour will show up with a number. For example, if the number is blue, then the damage will be reduced. Yellow meanwhile means extra damage, and orange refers to critical hits. If the number is white, then there won’t be any modifier attached to it.
Other Tips
There are a few other pieces of advice that you should take with you when you first venture into the New World. There are resources online that you can buy New World coins with, so take advantage of this if you need more. You will also get in-game resources from any of the settlements that your faction is controlling. With everything from leather to milk, this is essential to keep your resources up.
Keep an eye on your trade posts from any of the trade posts that are around. This will help you to make a decision as to whether it’s worth you travelling out to that settlement. You can make the decision to find what the price is and make your choice from there. Are just a few little features in New World that are going to be useful to you, and knowledge of what they are is will take you a long way.
Once you have your New World account set up, with these tips you should be ready to get started with the game. There are many different reasons as to why New World has taken its respective genre by storm. It won’t take long for you to see what makes it unique, and why it’s worth your time sticking with it.
