Michael Buffer was in the ring at Tottenham Stadium to introduce Regis Prograis, who made a memorable entrance before the action got underway.
Prograis walked to the ring wearing a wonderfully elaborate mask. His nickname, Rougarou, refers to a Cajun werewolf, making it one of the more distinctive monikers in boxing.
For his walk-on music, Prograis chose Ben E King’s Stand by Me. While it is a classic song, it was not the most intimidating entrance track the venue has ever heard.
The card also featured Conor Benn, with Tyson Fury v Arslanbek Makhmudov the headline heavyweight attraction on the night at Tottenham Stadium.
Earlier in the live coverage, attention was also drawn to Makhmudov, whose presence on the bill added to the heavyweight interest around the event. The evening brought together a strong mix of names and styles, with the atmosphere building as the fighters made their entrances.
Buffer’s announcement of Prograis was a reminder of the familiar pageantry that still surrounds major boxing nights. The veteran ring announcer remains one of the sport’s most recognisable voices, and his presence added to the sense of occasion as the crowd waited for the fights to begin.
With the card underway, the focus shifted from the elaborate entrances to the action in the ring. But Prograis’ entrance stood out as one of the night’s more original moments, thanks to the mask, the nickname and the music choice combining to create a distinctive scene.
The event at Tottenham Stadium continued to gather interest, with heavyweight boxing and a busy supporting bill offering plenty for fans following the live updates.
