Liverpool have confirmed that Andy Robertson will leave the club at the end of the season, drawing a line under a long and successful spell at Anfield.
The 32-year-old left-back, who joined Liverpool in 2017, is out of contract this summer and will depart on a free transfer. His exit follows that of Mohamed Salah, another key figure from the Jürgen Klopp era, who is also leaving the club on a free.
Robertson has been a central part of Liverpool’s recent success and has established himself as one of the most reliable full-backs in the Premier League during his time at the club. His departure marks the end of an eight-year stay that began when he arrived from Hull City in 2017.
Clubs interested in signing him
Interest in Robertson is already building ahead of the summer window. Napoli, Juventus, Atlético Madrid and Tottenham are all understood to be keen on the Scotland captain.
Atlético had previously tried to sign Robertson last summer, but he rejected that move at the time. With his contract now nearing its end, a number of Europe’s leading clubs are expected to monitor his situation closely.
Robertson’s next move has not yet been decided, but Liverpool’s announcement confirms that his long association with the club will come to an end after the current season.
His exit will be another significant change for Liverpool as they prepare for the next stage of squad rebuilding, with one of the most recognisable players of the Klopp years set to move on.
