Liverpool confirm Andy Robertson will leave at the end of the season

Liverpool have confirmed that Andy Robertson will leave the club at the end of the season, bringing to a close a highly successful spell at Anfield.

The 32-year-old left-back, who joined Liverpool in 2017, is out of contract this summer and will depart on a free transfer. His exit follows that of Mohamed Salah, another major figure from the Jürgen Klopp era, who is also set to leave the club.

Robertson has been a central part of Liverpool’s recent success and has established himself as one of the club’s most important players over the past eight years. His departure marks the end of an era for a defender who became a key figure on the left side of the team.

Interest in the Scotland captain is already building ahead of the summer window. Napoli, Juventus, Atlético Madrid and Tottenham are all understood to be keen on signing him.

Robertson had previously rejected a move to Atlético last summer, and a return to Scotland is not thought to be part of his plans at this stage.

As Liverpool prepare for a transition in the squad, Robertson’s departure will add to the sense of change surrounding the club’s senior players. For supporters, it is the latest reminder that one of the defining figures of the past decade is now approaching the end of his time on Merseyside.
